Our cabinets have either 120VAC or 240VAC and it has a separate chassis ground wire. But, the electroinic components are mounted to Al. rails that are black anodized. Is this ok?

Hi Ron,

For your cabinets, the electrical service should include a hot, neutral and ground wire (for 120V) or two hot wires (and possibly a neutral) and a ground wire (for 240V), that is routed in your standard electrical conduit.  In addition to the standard electrical ground, you should also have a chassis or “equipment” ground system that is separate from the standard electrical ground system, with the exception of a bond at the first service disconnect.

Feel free to give us a call if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

The Engineering Team at E&S Grounding Solutions
