E&S Grounding Solutions is proud to announce the latest in its line of custom electrolytic rods: the E-rod. The E-rod is a cost-effective modification to the standard 2-inch electrolytic rod. The E-rod reduces cost by utilizing the smaller diameter 1-inch copper tube.

This smaller diameter tube significantly reduces the costs of the copper tube and copper components. However, it also reduces the amount of desiccants and salts that can be held in the tube. To counter this reduction in materials, the E-rod has a dramatically higher ratio of desiccant over salt.

A typical standard electrolytic rod will have a 30-40% desiccant fill with the balance made up of common salts. The desiccant is the most expensive component in the mix and the primary component in regards to life expectancy of the rod. We believe that by increasing the desiccant to salt ratio, the E-rod not only reduces costs, but will also have a life expectancy competitive to the standard 2-inch diameter electrolytic rod.
