New Report Format Assists Construction Planning
Torrance, CA - E&S Grounding Solutions (E&S) today announced the release of a new report format designed to assist Architect and Engineering Firms in planning and constructing new cellular sites, specifically regarding safe grounding practices in high-voltage environments.

In today's society, city governments are particularly interested in improving the overall appearance of their community, and cellular towers are not part of their plan. The large antennae towers of the past are no longer accepted as they are considered to be blights on the community. Unfortunately, stealth technology designed to hide or cover the antennae have proved costly, difficult, and often times ineffective. The current trend is to place cellular antennae on a power company's high-voltage towers. These towers exist, have the height needed for the RF requirements, and give the customer the ease of dealing with one Power Company for many sites; this has great appeal to the cellular industry.

Of course, placing cellular equipment on a high-voltage tower has some drawbacks as well, particularly regarding safety. Ground Potential Rise (GPR) studies report what the effects a power line fault will have on the personnel working on the equipment attached to the tower. These GPR reports can also provide grounding designs that are engineered to eliminate the electrical hazards on the site.

The new E&S report format, provides information an architect or engineer needs to ensure that a safe grounding design is built. The enhanced report, which consolidates previous report information, is designed to serve the needs of architects and engineers by summarizing, all the construction requirements needed to make the site safe, in one concise page.

Michael Esparza, President of E&S said, “Our sales team and engineering staff are always trying to find ways to improve our services to the customer. That's exactly what happened here. One of our clients was speaking to a staff member and suggested that they could really use a Construction Summary page. A single page that they could just tear out of the report and hand to the construction crew, or use as a check list when they visit a site. These beneficial suggestions, especially the ones coming from the users of our reports, have really helped us in making improvements.”

All E&S Grounding Solutions reports offer specific information on various grounding and earthing issues, including test & evaluation, ground potential rise, and safety recommendations specific to each cellular site. According to the E&S Business Development Department, the new report format offers even more information than before, just in a more effective package.

"We have always prided ourselves on our reports. Many of our customers have commented on how useable and readable our reports are. GPR's are a complex subject, and we enjoy hearing a customer tell us that after reading our report, they finally understand what a GPR is. We have always been very cautious about making changes to our format but, in this case we're really excited about this new report!" said Michael Esparza.

E&S is actively seeking further comments on its reports from our clients, said officials from the E&S Business Development Department.
